Carly Stovell is set to travel to Cape Town as part of the Mellon Educate Building Blitz — a programme that brings volunteers from the construction and building industries together to physically transform school facilities for children who deserve a better environment in which to learn. What the Mellon Educate Building Blitz Involves
The Mellon Educate Building Blitz is not a symbolic gesture — it is hard, physical work carried out over the course of a week, resulting in real, lasting improvements to schools in some of Cape Town’s most disadvantaged communities. Volunteers roll up their sleeves alongside local contractors and community members, building classrooms, improving sanitation facilities, repainting buildings, and creating spaces that send a clear message to the children who use them: you matter, and your education matters.
