Access and Fall Prevention.

DESCRIPTION
Regular inspection and maintenance of flat roofs is not just good practice, it is also a condition of the waterproofing system warranty. As a result, all flat roofs need to allow for a certain amount of pedestrian access, whether this is for routine maintenance or the servicing of roof top plant. Careful consideration must be given for future access and those who will be working at height as part of the design process in accordance with CDM regulations.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Freestanding guardrail systems provide permanent edge protection without the need to mechanically fix back to the structure or penetrate the roof covering.
  • Suitable for use with single ply membranes, bituminous roof coverings and liquid waterproofing systems, a guardrail can be used on roofs with a pitch of up to 10°.
  • If aesthetic pleasure is an important element of your project, guardrail systems can be designed to fold flat so that they are not seen from ground level when not in use.
  • Horizontal lifeline systems offer a personal fall protection method for roofs where a collective measure is not a viable option. Systems should be designed to fall restraint and ensure a fall from height is prevented.
  • A variety of roof anchor posts are available to suit single ply membranes, bituminous roof coverings and liquid waterproofing systems, with proven weathering details to maintain the integrity of the waterproofing.
  • All systems are dynamically tested onto most common roof substrates using industry leading fixing techniques for mechanical to solid concrete slabs, hollowcore slabs, corrugated metal decks and timber decks.
